Challenges, stress and set-backs are inevitable in life. Learning how to bounce back, manage stress, build on strengths and develop mindfulness strategies are keys to flourishing. Caroline has overcome various challenges, stresses and set-backs in her life and these experiences have no doubt shaped her compassionate and enthusiastic approach to helping others overcome adversity. Her career has been dedicated to helping and empowering others. This has included working with: children with special needs, marginalised and disadvantaged people, and clients who have survived traumatic experiences and are living with PTSD and/or chronic pain. She has worked for nearly three decades and has extensive experience in education, health and therapeutic work.
Caroline commenced meditation practice at an early age and studied various martial arts as well as TaiChi and Qigong which have enabled her to learn how to integrate mind, body and spiritual awareness into her life. Rather than claiming to be an accomplished mindfulness expert, Caroline speaks of being a ‘work in progress’. Ongoing commitment to contemplative practices improve coping strategies through fostering perspective, non-judgement, acceptance, compassion, strength, and increasing personal insight and wisdom. These mindfulness practices help to promote balance in our lives – by letting go of stress, regrets, anxiety and integrating body, mind and spirit. Life is a journey and life-long learning and personal growth make it all the richer.
Caroline is passionate about translating cutting edge research from positive psychology and neuroscience, into practical strategies for health, happiness and success. Caroline provides high quality well-being and training programs for individuals to learn simple practices for personal wellbeing. She offers private consultations, coaching and group training. She is enthusiastic about working with people of all ages to build wellbeing – in their daily lives at home, school and in the workplace.
Caroline holds a Master in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Melbourne and has a background in education and science. Caroline has her own wellbeing business Body Mind Heart and Soul Harmony in Croydon North. Plus she works in Business and Innovation for each, Victoria’s largest nonprofit, community health service. She has professional memberships with the Victorian Institute for Teachers, International Positive Psychology Association and the Massage Myotherapy Association of Australia. With an eclectic background in education, science, positive psychology, community development and healing – Caroline has a unique perspective on how we can rediscover our balance by letting go of stress and integrating the mind, body and spirit.
Over the past 30 years she has worked with individuals and communities who have experienced trauma. This experience enabled her to develop a much deeper understanding of the pervasive impact of stress and trauma on the entire being. It effects learning, relationships, health, and just about every area of life. We are least effective at tapping into our inner wisdom, behaving consciously towards others and the environment when we are overwhelmed by responsibilities and stress.
Caroline has an intense interest in peace and how inner peace has a relationship to our capacity to care for others and for our earth. Stress and trauma effect the delicate balance of mind, body and spirit. Caroline has been on a learning journey observing the way traditional eastern practices and modern medicine seek to address the impacts of trauma and stress related illness on the body and mind. Caroline has collected many evidence-based techniques which she shares to inspire and empower others.
We all play a key role in our own healing and this is made simpler when we have the tools to do so. Intrigued by the importance of integrating the body and mind after a traumatic experience, Caroline began exploring the benefits of yoga, qigong and mindfulness meditation. She has an interest in neuroscience and the role of neuropsychology and neurophysiology in developing our understanding of the mind and body and the way stress, tension and trauma impact upon both. The body and mind are largely studied separately and seen as distinct areas of science yet the human organism functions as one whole integrated being. Increasingly modern science is finding relationships between mind and body. Such as the impacts of stress on the immune system and mindfulness on promoting cognitive functioning and wellbeing.
Caroline shares information in an engaging and inspiring manner. You will get plenty of ‘take-home’ ideas and strategies to invest in your own and your family’s wellbeing.
My passion for development of high quality well-being and training programs has led me to look for new ways to enhance treatment programs and to build opportunities for individuals to learn simple self help practices for personal well being. I provide private consultations and group training and well being sessions for the general public, teachers and for health professionals looking for new tools for self care and promotion of wellbeing in schools, community and workplaces.
